Come and join Commedia Works for their 2017 Summer school! This will be a week-long intensive Commedia dell’Arte workshop led by Didi Hopkins, the industry’s leading expert in the practice.
The National Theatre have made five short films about the Commedia method Didi developed with mask maker, Ninian Kinnear Wilson. She worked with Richard Bean on One Man, Two Guvnors and his new Commedia inspired RSC show, The Hypocrite. She was also recently Commedia and movement director for Love for Love at the RSC.
We will explore the roots of Commedia dell’Arte from what it was to what it can be. Discover the essence of the archetypes and the spirit of the characters, the masks, improvisation, physical storytelling, comedy, tragedy and everything in between.
This workshop is for anyone, of any experience.
Dates are 14th - 18th August 2017. Location in London. Price for the week is £150. Limited spaces available. Email Elliott@commediaworks.com to request an application form.
